The Matcha House celebrates its 10th anniversary with a new tea plantation
Barcelona, Tokyo, 20th April, 2019
The Matcha House team started its tea business with only 3 points of sale in Spain.
Today, 10 years later, we have a network of more than 100 selected establishments where you can
taste and buy our teas. Our partners, friends and tea enthusiasts have been the key to
our successful expansion throughout Europe. To them, we would like to send our most sincere gratitude and recognition for your constant support and encouragement.
April 20th, 2019 is a very special day for us. We have made the celebration of our 10th anniversary coincide with the inauguration of our new tea plantation in Nishio, Aichi, Japan. This tea field is different from the rest and very special for us: all these tea tree shrubs were planted four years ago and have not yet given their first harvest. This year, we will premiere a first harvest that will be very special to coincide with our 10 years of life. This tea plantation extends along the Yahagi River and it is one of the newest tea plantations in Nishio. If you have the opportunity to come over to Nishio, you will easily find our plantation indicated with a signbord with our company name.
Nishio is a region famous for its specialty in Matcha and more than 90% of all tea leaves grown in the Nishio region is Tencha, the main ingredient of Matcha. The Nishio tea plantation is huge and Matcha de Nisio is an excellent example of a regional brand. Now a small part of these plantations contain our young tea trees that will soon produce a part of our teas.
In particular, we would like to thank AOI SEICHA for the constant and strong support it has given us during these 10 years. The team of AOI SEICHA has always been by our side teaching us all the secrets to obtain a Matcha tea of the highest quality, from its harvest, to the production, packaging and distribution. And this year, thanks to AOI SEICHA, we have launched this new tea plantation.
We are ready to share and celebrate great news with all of you who support us. We will do everything possible to provide our best service so that you can enjoy our best teas continuously and this year we hope we can share pleasant and commemorative moments with all of you.
