Matcha Clumps
You may notice that Matcha may experience clumping. Unless the clumps are caused by excess moisture, they will not affect the quality of Matcha. If you see clumps in Matcha, there are a number of possible factors including, static electricity, moisture, Matcha particles and movement during transportation. Since Matcha is so finely ground, vibrations can cause static electricity to build within the container which may create clumps. We recommend using the tea strainer.

How to store Matcha:
Matcha is very sensitive to the effects of moisture and high temperature. So it is important to store Matcha properly. It is recommended that Matcha be stored in a dark and cool area or in a refrigerator. Storing Matcha in humid areas is not recommended as it can affect the quality of the Matcha. On hot and humid days, when you take the Matcha out of refrigerator, wait for it to become room temperature in order to avoid the Matcha absorbing humidity. Direct sun light and florescent light also may damage the quality of Matcha. Be sure to re-seal the Matcha in its storage container and do not leave the Matcha bag open.
