It is not easy to cook Matcha in Europe because it is difficult to find fresh Matcha powder at reasonable price and it is not easy to find recipes using material which you can find easily in Europe. We are trying to introduce easy recipes with Matcha utilizing European ingredients and recommendable Matcha powder. Matcha Workshop in La Rioja

Conversaciones Heladas 2016

Soft May wind, green grasses, wide vineyards, good music, wonderful food, delicious ice creams, nice wines, people's smile and pleasant conversations.....on 31st May, "Conversaciones Heladas 2016" took place in Logroño (La Rioja), Spain. La Rioja is internationally famous for the quality of its wines. It was a wonderful and unforgettable experience for The Matcha House. This big event was organized by Fernando Sáenz and his partner, Angelines González, who are both owners of the Ice-Cream manufacturer, Grate Obrador and Icre-Cream shop, Della Sera. This year they invited six speakers from various different professional fields for this event and The Matcha House was one of them. We were requested to speak about Matcha Green Tea. We talked about history of Japanese Green Tea, Cultivation and production of Matcha, health benefits and culture and uses of Matcha tea. In the afternoon, the people could enjoy some Matcha workshops with Yoko Yakushiji, the founder of The Matcha House, in the factory of Grate Obrador. Yoko explained how to prepare Matcha green tea using traditional tools such as bamboo whisk. Yoko also showed somer other Japanese ingredients in powder usuable for Ice Creams such as Yuzu powder, Hojicha powder, Chlorella powder and Purple sweet potato powder. We were very happy to see that people were very interested in our workshop. We really had a great time together with all participants. Thank you very much, Fernando and Angelines, for inviting us to this unique and special event. We hope that you will continue this wonderful event every year so that more and more people can enjoy this fantastic event.
